One of the highest dispensing bricks-and-mortar pharmacies in England has been sold.

West Elloe Pharmacy in Spalding, which dispenses around 53,000 items a month, was sold as part of a deal that saw BMP Healthcare acquire its owner Stagedale Limited. Another pharmacy, Knight Street Pharmacy in Pinchbeck which dispenses 9,000 items a month, was also sold to Leicester-based BMP Healthcare which has eight pharmacies in its portfolio.

Christie and Co, who brokered the deal for an undisclosed price, said Stagedale Limited was put up for sale after some of its shareholders decided to retire.

“We are delighted to have sold the business to BMP Healthcare, a young and exciting group which shares the same ethos and principles we have had at the core of our business for the last 25 years,” said Stagedale Limited managing director Ryszard Cygan.
